Dr. Alan D. Snow

Founder & CEO of Cognitive Clarity Inc. (developer of Percepta® products)

Dr. Alan Snow

Dr. Alan D. Snow is Founder & CEO of Cognitive Clarity Inc. and former Research Associate Professor of Pathology at University of Washington in Seattle, where he was an Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center project team leader for over 10 years. He obtained his BS in Biology and Chemistry from Bowling Green State University (Bowling Green, Ohio); MS in Anatomy from University of Western Ontario (London, Ontario, Canada); and PhD in Pathology from Queen’s University (Kingston, Ontario, Canada).

Dr. Snow has been studying and researching brain health, memory, cognition and brain plaques and tangles for over 30 years.

Dr. Snow did a postdoctoral fellowship in Dr. Thomas Wight’s lab in the Department of Pathology at University of Washington (Seattle, WA). Dr. Snow immediately made the discovery of identifying specific heparan sulfate proteoglycans in the plaques and cerebrovascular deposits in Alzheimer’s disease and Down’s Syndrome. Dr. Snow then completed innovative work with Dr. Stanley Prusiner and discovered that specific heparan sulfate proteoglycans were also in the plaques in prion diseases (i.e. “mad-cow” and other infectious brain diseases ). Dr. Prusiner then went on to win the Nobel Prize in Physiology or Medicine in 1997.

Dr. Snow led a world-class research team in the Department of Pathology at the University of Washington (Seattle, WA, USA) involved in research pertaining to brain plaque and tangle formation, and the discovery of compounds and nutraceuticals able to prevent/reduce brain plaque load and improve memory. Dr. Snow left the University in 1999 to form a private Company to develop small molecule drugs. Dr. Snow’s research led to 18 National Institute of Health (NIH) grant awards, and a prestigious $3.5M LEAPS award from the Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Disease Research. Dr. Snow published over 50 peer-reviewed publications, made presentations at over 100 scientific meetings worldwide, and is an inventor on over 340 issued patents pertaining to new drugs and nutraceuticals for brain aging, Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and other amyloid disorders, as well as discovering new animal models and screening technologies.

Dr. Snow’s world-class research teams have made significant discoveries and inventions pertaining to disease modifying therapeutics for amyloid diseases including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, type 2 diabetes and systemic amyloidosis, as well as inventions pertaining to novel platform screening technologies, and new diagnostics. His discoveries on nutraceuticals and nutraceutical ingredients to target normal brain aging and memory loss are postulated to be a breakthrough in the years to come.

Dr. Snow has been studying and researching brain health, memory, cognition and brain plaques and tangles for over 30 years. His scientific and neuropathology background has led him to be one of the most knowledgeable neuroscientists in this field in the world today.

Dr. Rudy Tanzi

Dr. Rudy Tanzi is co-founder and Chief Scientific Advisor of Cognitive Clarity Inc. He is the Joseph P. and Rose F. Kennedy Professor of Neurology at Harvard University, and Director of the Genetics and Aging Research Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital. Tanzi co-discovered three familial early onset Alzheimer’s disease (AD) genes and several other neurological disease genes including that responsible for Wilson’s disease.

Dr. Tanzi has received the two highest awards for brain aging research, The Metropolitan Life Award and the Potemkin Prize.

As the chairman of the Cure Alzheimer’s Fund, and head of the Alzheimer’s Genome Project, Dr. Tanzi has carried out multiple genome wide association studies of thousands of Alzheimer’s families leading to the identification of novel AD candidate genes, such as CD33. His research on the role of zinc and copper in AD has led to human clinical trials at Prana Biotechnology. He is also working on gamma secretase modulators for the prevention and treatment of AD. Dr. Tanzi has published over 500 scientific papers including the top three most cited papers in the field of AD research.

Dr. Tanzi has a BS in microbiology and a BA in history from the University of Rochester. He holds a PhD in Neurobiology from Harvard Medical School.   Dr. Tanzi’s total body of research on AD led him in 2015 to be named “TIME Magazine 100 Most Influential People in the World”.

Dr. Tanzi has received numerous awards, including the two highest awards for brain aging research, The Metropolitan Life Award and the Potemkin Prize.

Dr. Tanzi has been studying the genetics of brain aging, memory, cognition, brain “plaques and tangles” for over 30 years, and is one of the most well-known neuroscientists in the world today. Dr. Tanzi has made numerous television appearances on shows such as CBS This Morning and Dr. Oz. He also hosted “Super Brain with Dr. Rudy Tanzi” and “Super Genes with Dr. Rudy Tanzi” on PBS television.

Partnership

Dr. Alan Snow and Dr. Rudy Tanzi Team Up to Form Cognitive Clarity Inc.

In late 2015, Dr. Snow decided to team up with Dr. Rudy Tanzi to form Cognitive Clarity Inc., to develop “Breakthrough Nutraceuticals for the Aging Brain” based on Dr. Snow’s early work pertaining to nutraceutical discoveries on the effects in reducing brain plaques and tangles and improving memory. It is the only nutraceutical in the world marketplace today that targets plaques and tangles in the normal aging brain, and is postulated to markedly improve memory and cognition as you age.*

Dr. Snow and Dr. Tanzi have a combined 60 years of scientific research and are the world’s leading authorities on brain aging, memory and cognition, particularly as it pertains to brain plaques and tangles.
